My favorite Oracle topics include Exadata, ODA, RAC, ASM, Backup & Recovery, and Data Guard. I also enjoy writing scripts that make me more efficient and productive. Consequently this blog will tend to focus on these subject areas. I hope you find the topics and scripts presented here interesting and helpful.

A little bit about me…

I began working with Oracle in 1992 when Oracle 7 first rolled out. I wasn’t a DBA at the time so I was very lucky to get the opportunity to go to the DBA classes offered by Oracle Education. From that point on I was hooked. It took me another couple of years but I finally landed my first job as a full time Oracle DBA in Dallas Texas. Over the years I have worked with some of Oracle’s most prominent innovations including Oracle Parallel Server (OPS),  Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Oracle Exadata (V2, X2, X3), and Oracle Database Appliance (ODA). I am coauthor of the book, “Expert Oracle Exadata”, and hold certifications in Exadata Implementation, and Oracle 10g RAC administration. And most important of all, 20 years later, I am still hooked on Oracle. 🙂
